Providing advice and resources to make navigating academia more accessible as a chronically ill or disabled person by sourcing research and grant opportunities, tutoring and proofreading services, templates for informing supervisors of accessibility needs, and field-specific reading lists
Hosting two events monthly, one focusing on academia and the other on community

Muriel Spark Biography Project 2019 - present

Archivist

Working with Dr Dan Gunn to transcribe, digitise, and catalogue hundreds of letters to and from Scottish author Muriel Spark, her loved ones, and her contemporaries
Undertaking independent, investigative research to enhance the collection, such as identifying the exact or near-exact dates of hundreds of undated letters using context clues and design and materials analysis
Scanning, photographing, or otherwise creating digital copies of these letters, and labeling those which I feel should be included in the final book
Deciphering different handwritings, shorthand, and various pre-modern stylistic conventions
Fine-tuning my understanding of digital and physical scholarship as well as the handling and preservation of archive materials

Brainstormed ideas and created graphics for social media platforms with a total following of over 150k
Copyedited cohort members’ online publications, such as dictionaries for their language

Speech Graphics Aug. - Sept. 2023

Speech Data Annotator

Created usable data to train AI for automatic speech alignment by segmenting and annotating ~150 minutes of English and French speech data using Speech Graphics’ unique Praat-like software
Worked in a team of 3 to develop best practices for annotation

Undergraduate Linguistics

Association of Britain (ULAB)

Journal Editor April 2022 - July 2024

Led a team of 10 at the only journal in the world publishing undergraduate research in all areas of linguistics
Oversaw all aspects of the journal (copyediting, reviewing, publishing, graphic design) and made final decisions on paper acceptances
Created and hosted workshops and a podcast to demystify publishing and increase accessibility in academia

Headed a global organisation for undergraduate linguists
Led a committee of 15 and oversaw and facilitated conference proceedings, committee elections, constitutional amendments, social media, and outreach
Helped organise ULAB’s 2024 conference, with worldwide attendance

Uncovered lists of past committee members, conference programmes, presentation slides, ULAB constitutions, and conference proceedings to compile into a working digital archive
